If you're thinking about joining St John's Chess Club, please do feel free to come along on any Thursday. There'll usually be plenty of people to give you a game and introduce you to the club. However, it does occasionally happen that all our players are involved in league games, so we do suggest you contact us first.

Our club subscription is currently £15 per year. If you want to play three or more games in the Norfolk Chess League you would also need to become a member of the English Chess Federation (currently £13 per annum). In addition you'd need to become a member of Keir Hardy Hall (£12.30 per annum for under 60s, £7.15 if you're over 60).

Of course you don't have to decide straightaway if you want to join or not – we'll give you the first three weeks for free.
